# Backing up and Restoration

### 1. Backing up iSG System

1）Insert the USB drive/SD card into the slot at the back of the iSG, click on Backup iSG System, and the system will jump to the file manager. Click on the "≡" in the top left corner.

2\) Click “USE THIS FOLDER”, screen will back to iSG settings page after backup file successfully saved into USB drive / SD card.&#x20;

### 2. Backing up Home Assistant

1\) It is recommended to perform the backup on the Home Assistant page. Connect your computer to the same network as the iSG, open a browser, enter: iSG IP:8123, and log in to Home Assistant. Go to Settings - Systems

2\) Click Backups

3\) Click "Creat Backup", The button will change to "Backup is currently being created". Wait for a few minutes. After the backup is successful, the file will appear in the list. Click to download, and save the backup file to your computer and then save it to a USB drive.

### 3. Restoring iSG

1\) On the login screen, select "Import Backup". Insert the USB drive containing the iSG backup file. Click on the blank box to go to the file manager, and select the iSG backup file from the USB drive.

2）Click "Import" to complete the iSG Restore.

**Note:** *<mark style="color:red;">The backup and restore function currently only works on the same iSG device. If you mistakenly restore to a different iSG, please power off the original iSG and do not use it again, as this may cause data confusion between the two iSG devices.</mark>*

### **4. Restoring Home Assistant**

1）Usually, Home Assistant can perform restorations on its own page, but iSG uses the Home Assistant Core version, which requires restoration of backups to be completed through iSG. Go to iSG settings - Restore.

2）Directly save the **.tar file** (do not unzip) downloaded from the Home Assistant backup to a USB drive/SD card, insert it into the iSG, and click Restore HA.
