To meet the demand for using Zigbee Dongle within the iSG's built-in Home Assistant, we have rapidly adapted the Zigbee Dongle for Home Assistant compatibility and are publishing the upgrade process here.
Please note: After upgrading, the Zigbee Dongle will only be compatible with Home Assistant and cannot revert to the previous iSG version. Consider carefully before upgrading.
Zigbee Dongle Upgrade Steps:
Download Firmware Tool: Click either link below to download the Firmware Tool Pack to a Windows PC (not supported on Mac).
Extract and Run Tool: Unzip zbck-tool-2.1_en.zip into a folder and run the TestTool.exe file within that folder.
Prepare File: Drag and drop the ncp-uart-sw-nodcdc-13p7.gbl file to the specified location in the application interface.
Connect Device: Insert the Zigbee Dongle into the PC’s USB port and select the correct COM port.
Start Upgrade: Click the button and shows "Now normal device | Press switch to ZBCK" , select Xmodem to start the upgrade, and monitor the progress bar until completion.
Confirm Upgrade Completion: A popup window will appear once the upgrade is complete; click “确定” to confirm (note: there is language display issues in the tool).
Using the Zigbee Dongle in Home Assistant:
Connect the Device: Insert the Zigbee Dongle into the USB A port of the iSG and select “HA” mode through Settings -> USB Function.
Add Integration: Log into the built-in Home Assistant on iSG, navigate to Settings -> Devices and Services -> Add Integration, search for and add ZHA.
Configure Integration: After completing the ZHA integration, select the device path (e.g., /dev/ttyUSB0). If not recognized, try re-inserting the Dongle and adding ZHA again.
Create Network and Add Devices: In ZHA settings, choose “Create a network,” select a room, and click “finish”. Then, find the Zigbee integration in Devices and Services, click “Configure” -> “Add Device,” and reset your Zigbee device to allow HA to automatically search and add it.
