# Energy

## 1. Prerequisites:

You need to have a device with metering capabilities.

## 2. Getting Started:

We will add a device with metering capabilities to iSG. Below is an example of adding a Zigbee device to HA:

1\) Add the device through ZHA to HA. If you are not sure about the steps, you can refer to the article "[Add Zigbee devices in HA,](/isg/advanced-features/home-assistant/add-devices-in-home-assistant/ha-official-integrations/zha-integration.md)" which shows how to use the built-in HA service of iSG to add Zigbee devices. If you have an external HA and want to import the devices from it to iSG, you can refer to [this](/isg/settings/home-assistant-settings/external-ha.md) article to associate the external HA with iSG.

2\) After successfully adding the device to HA, next, go back to iSG "Device" → "+" → "Home Assistant," to add devices of the power type and devices that monitor total energy consumption to iSG.

3\) Combine an energy device with a power device to form an energy consumption device.

4\) Go to the navigation bar on the left side of the iSG and find energy management.
