Update eRemote to eRemote HA
If you own an eRemote, you can update its firmware to transform it into an eRemote HA. Please read the following notices and instructions carefully before proceeding with the update.
IMPORTANT NOTICES
1/ Unavailability of BLE Hub Feature
Updating your eRemote to the eRemote HA version will disable the BLE hub feature - so all BLE accessories (BLE door sensor, TH sensor and BLE remotes) won't connect after firmware update.
If you want to rollback the firmware, please refer to: Rollback eRemote HA to eRemote.
2/ Supported IR Categories
Currently, our eRemote HA version supports importing the following most frequently used categories into Home Assistant (HA): "TV", "Air Conditioner", "Set Top Box", "Media Box", "BD/DVD" and "Lamp". When adding IR remote for these categories, you will see an option page where you can choose "Add for HA" or "Add for APP."
If you don't see the "HA or APP" option page, it means the current category may not yet be supported by HA. We will support them in the future as soon as possible.
3/ Number of IR Devices Addable
Due to the different mechanism compared to normal IR control, the IR codes for HA will be stored on the device rather than on the phone for local control purposes. Since device storage is very limited, we have to restrict the number of IR devices that can be added for HAβonly one device per category. For example, if you've already added a TV for HA, you won't be able to add another TV for HA (but you can still add TVs for the app). This limitation usually wonβt affect real-world use, as IR control is typically confined to a specific room (since IR cannot pass through walls to other rooms), and generally, there will be only one appliance per category in a room.
4/ Backup and Restoration Recommended
Updating eRemote to eRemote HA will erase all previous data on device and reset it.
If you have IR devices added to eRemote, you can back up your existing IR devices and restore them to the new eRemote HA. But these restored IR devices are not compatible with HA. If you want to sync them with HA, you still need to create new IR devices for HA from scratch.
How to Update Legacy eRemote to eRemote HA:
Go to the device page, click on the "..." menu > "Settings" > "Firmware Update" > "URL", then paste the following URL: http://eufirmware.linklinkiot.com/firmware/RM_HA-61312-8720-BL-3310.upd.bin
You may see a firmware update failure message β donβt worry, this is normal. The eRemote HA firmware update process requires a complete removal of previous settings, resetting the device to factory mode.
If the device's LED indicator flashes intermittently, it means the firmware update was successful and the device has been reset. Please proceed to STEP 3 of Setup Instruction to reconnect the device to the network. If the device's LED indicator doesn't flash, it means the firmware update has failed. Please return to the device settings page and check either "Device Info" or "Firmware Update" to verify if the firmware is still the old version.
