Before starting, please ensure that your air conditioner remote control is a 38KHz-based infrared (IR) remote.
Open the LinkLink app and navigate to the eRemote HA page.
Click the "+" button in the top-right corner of the page. This will guide you to the device addition page.
On the next page, select the "Air Conditioner" option.
Our air conditioner remote panel supports both HA (Home Assistant) and non-HA types. If you want to control your air conditioner remote panel via MQTT or HA, you can select the "Add for HA" option. (Note: You can create only one lR device per type due to the device's limited storage capacity )
You can enter your air conditioner brand in the search box at the top. Then, follow the instructions in the app to download the matching air conditioner.
Note:
1) The code data for the air conditioner is quite large. When you find your air conditioner model and successfully match it to download and add the panel, it is expected to take around 50 seconds. Please be patient.
2) If the air conditioner remote panel matched via the red code is unable to control certain functions of your air conditioner properly, you can use the "IR Learning" feature to relearn specific buttons and resolve the issue.
If you cannot find your air conditioner brand in the list, you can create a blank air conditioner remote panel by clicking "Cannot find my brand. Learn remote now." After creating the panel, it will be empty, so you will not be able to control your air conditioner immediately.
To enable the remote panel to control your air conditioner, you need to click the "..." icon in the top-right corner and select the "IR Learning" function. This will allow you to learn and copy the signals from your physical air conditioner remote.
You can follow the on-screen wizard to manually learn the IR codes using your physical remote.
Note: The air conditioner remote panel created through the "Cannot find my brand. Learn remote now." option comes with many pre-set function buttons. However, if you do not manually learn and copy the signals from your physical air conditioner remote, these buttons will not be able to control the air conditioner. Therefore, we recommend learning and copying as many remote signals as possible to ensure full functionality and an optimal user experience.
Once the learning process is complete, please ensure to test if the air conditioner responds correctly to verify that the remote codes were learned successfully.
Return to the eRemote HA device page. Click the ".." icon in the top-right corner, then select "MQTT Connection." Enter the required information based on your MQTT server settings and click "Save"Reopen "MQTT Connection" to verify that the status shows "Connected".
Once MQTT is connected, the added lR device will automatically appear in your HA, with theavailable buttons synced and ready for use. You can now use the IR device in HA for complete local automations.
